Trial and error shooting at Tien Hou Temple

It was a sunny day. In fact, it was a hot and bright day. We went to Tien Hou Temple for our photo practice. As usual, my photography buddy and I are always keen to improve our techniques ( both of us are still beginner), we don't mind the hot sun.

It was about 12 noon we reached there. The sun was directly under our head. As a result, most of our shots turn out to be dark and too much shadow.

Just a brief introduction , Tien Hou Temple (Chinese: 天后宫) is a landmark six-tiered Chinese templer in Kuala Lumpur. It is located on a 1.67 acres (6,760 m²) of land atop Robson Heights along Lorong Bellamy, overlooking Jalan Syed Putra, Federal Highway (Source: Wikipedia)

It is famous as one of the tourist attractions in KL, crowded during chinese festivals and favourite marriage registration place among the chinese.

Tien Hou Temple shot from far (not too far as I don't have a wide angle lens, this was shot at 18mm)

Spectacular roof

"Journey to the west" statues

This shot was dark and with more shadow

Lotus at the back garden

Bright red window

Bamboo leave ~ close up shot. I cropped it, the original shot taken with huge white wall on top. Cropped to maintain the red window.

Focusing on KL city. The roof & statue as foreground in shadow

The dragon as main subject

This shot was taken at the marble table, with the temple as background in focus
